We had a leisurely morning then met up with the rest to visit the other hilltop, Monte Igueldo. We rode the funicular to the top. What a spectacular view!! The surprise at the top was the little amusement park! Len & I rode the Rio Mysterioso - a little river flume ride.
The "mystery" was the last leg of the circuit. We went into a cavern where there were Disney-like characters...cardboard and mannequin!! Peter Pan was there as well as Captain Hook and I think Captain America! Cheesy but fun... I guess that was the Mysterioso part!
We ambled around, (losing the others) and got a charge out of the arcade displays... Rifle shooting at targets, tower of strength, race cars, stuff you see at local carnivals. Train rides, bumper cars (those looked like fun), house of horror AND a roller coaster! We HAD to go on that!! We had a great time, but it was hot!!
When we caught up with the others, I opted out of going to the market. So we sat outside the hotel waiting to be waited on! My NY was beginning to show, but after downing a pellegrino, we ventured to a beachfront cafe for lunch. Totally beautiful... and then siesta time!!
Dinner tonight was reserved at the hotel. This was actually a recommendation of Lourdes. The champagne, wine and vermouth were flowing. Menu items included "secret" pork, tripe and muzzle!!! We did ok, though, actually more than ok. We got a little rowdy, and some of the "boys" got downright silly!!
It was a great night and great way to end our stay in San Sebastian.
