Today was another learning experience. We visited a prehistoric ruin of the Sinagua Indians, called Tuzigoot, supposedly inhabiting the region in 700 AD to the early 1400’s! Before Columbus!! Can you believe it! We couldn’t. We then took a side trip to Jerome – for a photo op and then onto the Verde Canyon River Railroad. We took this scenic 40 mile train ride deep into the canyon. As first class passengers, we received a champagne toast, extensive buffet (which included Marie’s all time staple of life – CHICKEN WINGS!) and a personal attendant/guide in our luxury appointed train car. Luckily there were no train robbers on the route, as we would’ve been sad to give up those wings! (Marie would’ve sacrificed Lucille for those wings and crudités!!) Seriously though, the ride gave us an extensive view of the canyon and the history of the Verde River and its surrounds.

Some may feel squeamish about eating it, but rabbit has a fan base that grows as cooks discover how easy they are to raise — and how good the meat tastes.
